I am growing some herbs in these things, and I do have some complaints after a full season.They aren't as pretty as you might be hoping. They are just cheap, white plastic (I hope they are actually UV resistant...) and you have to really try to strategically place them right to keep them from looking cheap and ugly. They also don't feel all that strong. The single-screw mount could easily fail, and in a heavier wind they likely could get knocked or broken off the screw. So far, they've just been pushed around a little and the mount has held up, but we haven't had any strong winds yet this season.They have no drainage. I realize that the whole point is that they hold water and wick it up using the rope, but without ANY drainage, heavy watering will fill the entire thing with water and kill your plant. I had to drill a small drainage hole on the side of each one, just below the bottom line of the inner plant pot liner, to prevent the soil from getting drowned. The inserts also don't fit really easily into the outer pot. It can be hard to get them to properly sit in the pot and it gets bumped out of place and looks awkward pretty easily.Also, the water reservoir is not all that large. It helps extend time between waterings slightly during dry months, maybe let's you skip a day once in a while, but that's it. The pots are also quite small and not appropriate for many herbs with deeper root systems. The pots would probably work great for dense flowers with small roots, like petunias.Based on the design weaknesses, I have a feeling that these are really meant to be used indoors, even though the listing specifically mentions outdoor use. I doubt they will hold up to outdoor use for more than a couple years.Finally, the price... I don't really regret buying them, but the price is pretty steep for something that probably cost the manufacturer almost nothing to produce. It's just some molded plastic and a short piece of rope. I imagine the margins on these are pretty good.Easy set up, looks great and my plants are happyWe used these to display mosquitoe repellent plants. Love how they look.These are simply great planters. The water reserve at the bottom of the planter it’s a big plus for the Florida heat. Not having plants taking up floor space is also great. They really compliment my patio’s modern style.I have these hanging on different fence posts around my yard and garden, filled with herbs. They look so good!Looks beautiful! Easy to install.I used 6 instead of 7 for symmetry and so I could have a backup of one breaks. I’m not sure of the efficacy of the self watering wick. Maybe a plant person can tell me if that’s enough.Overall, I’m very happy with this purchase. Thought I was going to have to spend much more money on my makeshift plant wall. Now I pray I can keep it green and alive!Was what I wanted for faux plants to be glued into and screwed on a fence.These are really simple and clean looking and have given my concrete jungle of a back garden a new lease of life however please give them the care they need when installing. The screw hole area is very thin and on the whole these are very flimsy but £50 for 7 of them is still extremely good value. Just know what your fitting before you fit them because if you go at these with an impact driver or combi drill I guarantee you will snap the screw holes. I kinda knew this by looking at them so went to my local hardware store prior to install and bought a bag of stainless steel washers and stainless steel screws and the washers have worked a treat (the stainless steel is purely my preference as I know in a year of using normal screws you will end up with brown rust stains flowing from each screw and down your walls which in my case is a white rendered wall)Plus the self watering aspect of these is genius! Perfect for the lazy gardener like me. Just remember to consult yer mum for the correct plants n flowers to go in them because I didn't have a clue!!!Used for plantsSo far so good, even reordered again, sadly one outer case arrived cracked, the seller provided an extra innercase to compensate should this occurred but proved futile as an extra outercase was what was required.It very good purchaseValue for money
