Coco liners eventually degrade due to weather and exposure. I had old liners in some planters that were starting to not hold in soil. I bought these (they fit perfectly and are true to size so make sure you measure) to replace the old liners. I found it was easier to just lift out the old liner with the plants still attached to it, place the new liner down, then place the old liner inside the new liner. I like replacing the liner this way because I do not have to technically disturb the plants and and I don't have to throw away the old liner.
