These adorable pots were perfect to gift our giraffe loving niece and her mom. I had many compliments while they were on my porch. They can be positioned in many ways, and they always show the bond between mother and baby.The baby giraffe has a very small planting area, and after unsuccessfully trying herbs, I decided on a tiny succulent still attached to the leaf. The momma giraffe has a planting area large enough for small, young herbs; we planted elfin thyme, purple basil, Thai basil, and peppermint.Each pot has a drip hole in the bottom. I covered them with mesh since there isn't enough room for a rock layer. My sister-in-law had them on the mantle, but moved them to her kitchen window to avoid water dripping on the wood. Used with a drip plate, possible water damage could be avoided, or they could be filled with artificial plants.Very light weight but seem sturdy. She loved these! they looked just like the photo and felt like a good weight. i gave 4 starts because i don't know how well they will drain ( it looks like they will just fine though) Once she plants something all ask her how it going with them. They are on the smaller side, but a nice little succulent would fit nicely. even a small cactus looks like it would fit in the bigger one and they grow slowly enough that it probably could stay a while in them.
