I purchased these hanging baskets with the hope that they would keep my flowers moist longer than if used a standard plastic basket. Unfortunately, as soon as I poor the water in, it flows right out of the sides and bottom. The material the metal structure is lined with is not very thick. This also means I have to take them down when watering if I don't want a shower.Petunias and geraniums do especially well--I get "starters" and makemy own Spring/Summer baskets.These are small and great for crafts. Can use for plants but best for those that don't require much water because they dry out very quickly.Perfect for my plantersThe baskets were smaller than expected. They didn’t hold much dirt. I planted ferns. The baskets didn’t hold water and leaked badly when watered. I eventually put them inside larger pots so I could add more dirt and water the ferns without leaking so much water. I should have read the description better.Great value, nice qualityI purchased multiple boxes with the intention of making a hanging food garden. The biggest draw back was the impregnated, toxic smelling, waxy plastic 'coir' liners. There was very little coir but a whole lot of that other stuff to make up the basket liner. Not going to be planting edible plants in that! The basket and chain are just ok; you might get two maybe three grow seasons if you take care of them (put away in winter and regular metal maintenance to prevent rust/metal decay/stress). The baskets where a nice diameter but it seemed too shallow for the diameter (would have been ok for hanging, shallow rooted plants that would hide the insufficient depth. It just was a so-so product that was not worth the money nor meet my needs with those nasty liners and definitely not quality enough to keep and replace the liners.Great basket, easy install and timely delivery
